Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe are undeniable legends, true geniuses of Salsa.

This genre has been a part of my family heritage, present in my life for as long as I can remember, with my father being the one who introduced me to his vinyl collection.

As a very visual person, I was immediately captivated by the iconic covers of those records, especially the *Crime Pays* album by Willie Colón (1972). Designed by the talented Izzy Sanabria, this cover reflects the influence of the gangster style that defined much of Willie Colón’s artwork during that era.

It was precisely this album and its concept that inspired the creation of this piece, as a tribute to the artists who have not only shaped my life but also the history of Latin music.

I also included 20 of my favorite tracks by Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe as a band in this work.
